Kim and Stu Lang Community Healthcare Partnership Program

Disease Outbreak Response

CHPP is offering disease outbreak response assistance to animal shelters and rescues in Canada. In-person and remote consultation services are provided by CHPP’s clinical resident in shelter medicine, Dr. Wesley Cheung, with remote support from adjunct faculty members and shelter medicine specialists, Dr. Alex Ellis and Dr. Emilia Wong Gordon.

Consultations are fully subsidized by CHPP  and includes population-level support, risk assessment and guidance. Organizations are responsible for providing individual animal veterinary care, including diagnostic submissions. The point person must have the power to make decisions within the organisation and be open to change and ongoing communication with our consultants for updates after the initial consultation.

Request a Shelter Outbreak Consultation

On-site outbreak support is available for organizations in Ontario and remote support for organizations across Canada. While we will do our best to accommodate all requests, assistance will depend on the availability of program staff and resources at the time of the request. If your shelter is experiencing an outbreak, please fill in the form below and we will respond to you as soon as possible.
